Carb on my friend fired it up running smooth sounds great. Have to go over everything have to put all new actuators on should have it back next week sometime.
Put mine on and fired it up as well. Runs good, but the fuel line to carb is leaking. Likely will swap different inlet fitting on, but still exploring solutions. There is a surface defect on the seat of myinlet fitting that is olddamsgr. The joys of working on 47 year old cars.
Got mine running with no leaks today. Had to change the fuel inlet fitting. There was a burr or surface defect on the original and wasn't confident it would polish out without still leaking. Adjusted the power steering and alternator belts to make them tighter, since one of them started to squeal at startup. Hoping that Sunday I can get some additional timing into the car, to help with idle, power, mileage, drivability etc. Not sure how much timing will be added since want to make sure not getting detonation type issues. Currently have 6 deg BTDC, and likely will do incremental adjustments.
Took mine out on Saturday and noticed on the way home it was pinging a little if I got on it. Today checked the timing and apparently my dad forgot to add 6 deg to the number since I had marked the timing tab. I marked the timing tab at 0 and then retained it. 26 deg initial is a bit much, so dialed it back to 15. Good thing I put some octane boost in yesterday before going out. Put the shielding back on and spaced it out better between the washer pump.
They claim it's going to rain this coming weekend, so might tackle the headlight and wiper canister seals.
