Here I am crawling around in the foot wells looking for the sound of a vac leak, that hissing sound, and what do I find..the headlight switch is hissing away.....NEW too.....Ecklers.
Any one run into this problem, can it be fixed????
I purchased it back in Dec, 2013......it's beyond the 60 day return time limit...Any suggestion on WHO makes a non-leaky switch??

You didn't mention the condition of your vacuum lines. My 77 had the same issue. I changed them out and took care of the problem.
if the hoses are attached to the wrong ports the switch will hiss/leak. swap the hoses and check again.
Tried this AM your suggestion, It seems to be working, I can not hear a hissing, lights both respond well when the switch is activated, which it did not do before..
Might I ask another question???
The Brake warning light in the dash stays on, Tried the correction listed in the service manual, I can get the rear brakes to work like it says but not the front....I even disconnected the wire at the brake proportioning valve, the light stays on.. It goes off when I depress the peddle activating the brake light switch. some how I have power going to the dash light. it's all new wire harness.
perhaps start a new thread for this problem.
if you have disconnected the wire from the distribution block under the hood then the problem is not with the brake system.
the only other connection for the brake light in the dash is the connection at the parking brake handle in the console.
i cannot think of a reason that the light would go off when the brake pedal is pushed.
