I've had a TKO600 behind 6500rpm 427 and 468 engines for about 6 years. I must have gotten a "good" one because I only had a problem on the 2-3 shift 3 times and that was from overthinking it after I heard about the problem. It is kind of a shock when it happens though. The shifter is spring loaded to neutral in the 2-3 gate, so all I have to do is push forward and the springs will pop the stick into the neutral spot just south of 3rd. Just before Keisler went bankrupt, I did get a new shifter from them. The centering springs that load the stick to neutral in the 2-3 gate are much stronger, so I expect that I won't have another 2-3 episode, unless I try to guide it to 3rd. I would think that this shifter is or has been the new shifter (third generation) on TKOs for a while.
I've got a new 540 in front of my TKO now and I'd love to have more overdrive with a T56, but otherwise I love my TKO600. It shifts great generally and I've got the shortest flat-style stick Hurst makes and I've re-drilled it, add more threads to the ball end and shortened it from both ends. Makes for a positive and quicker shifting arrangement.

Keisler filed chapter 7 liquidation bankruptcy January 16th of this year. We scooped up their assets from the U.S. bankruptcy court on April 10 and opened for business May 19th.
