Default spare tire light?

I recently was working on my radio antenna and ran across a wired light blub, and it comes on when the courtesy lights come on, but it isn't fastened anywhere. I saw it between the spare tire clam shell and the rear bumper. Where should it be mounted?

On an '80: Bottom of rear crossmember, passenger side, just right of license plate.

Does anyone know if they make a reproduction of this housing for a 1980? I have searched and most seem to suggest it's the same as the license plate light, which it really isn't.
