Please Dedicate....
Brothers, My uncle Tom lost his 71 last week to an electrical problem in his detached garage... No one was hurt but you can only imagine how it feels... This was a beautiful Vette and will be missed... Please dedicate your next weekend ride to Tom and his lost 71.
Thanks,
TheDipple

I am so sorry, it looks like it was once a very beautiful example.
It really doesn't looks as bad as it could have been and may be restorable!

I would still try to save it. I will conduct a moment of silence now. ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ __________________________________
My '72 was wrecked last year, I am trying to save it. So I know first hand what it is like to have it and then loose it.
Keep us updated.

VERY sad to hear for a couple reasons.... I`m another 71 owner AND an electrician! But I agree with Ontario, it looks restorable. Tell uncle not to give up on it!

I'm very sorry about Uncle Tom's Vette. It was a great car....I hope it doesn't look as bad as the pics, and there might be some hope for it.

Sounds like it was a weed whacker battery charger shorted and then you can imagine the combustibles in a garage... yes very scarey.

I was expecting to see much worse.
In the right hands that car is restorable.

Sorry for your loss. I've seen worse listed for sale on Ebay. Maybe he can use the insurance money to start the restoration.

Really sorry for your uncle's loss, I'd personally have a hard time going through the restoration if it was mine. Best of luck moving forward - whatever your decision.
