This way uses the original pulleys, you're just using a new bracket with the correct spacing to keep the belts oriented properly.

Exactly, for those of us without AC, that big open space allows lots of room to place the alternator. You almost need to be a contortionist to get the cap on and off to check PS fluid levels.
