Default Need your help....light and noise

Hey Guys,

About 5 minutes before getting to Carlisle my Vette starting making a buzzing sound and the battery light started to flicker. The buzz syncs with the flashing of the light, meaning the buzz comes from the battery light. The more electrical things I use, the more it buzzes. Even pressing the brakes makes it flash and buzz. I don't' have my manual so I can't look up what the light indicator means. I had the battery checked and it seems good. I thought it might be the alternator not charging the battery but the battery doesn't seem to ever get drained. I would think after about 5 minutes of driving the car and the alternator not charging, the battery would die.

I checked the ground on the underside of the car and the battery leads. Everything seems connected well and is secured.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks.

Well I had the battery tested and the alternator tested. I get mixed reviews, one person says it's fine, the other says it's OK, the third says replace. I have noticed what I believe to be my alt over charging at my battery gauge gets close to the orange when I am driving. So I am going to change out the batter once I get to Carlisle tomorrow.

How old is your batter/does the car get driven much---if not, do you have a "battery tender"?

I noticed for a few days that my Escalade voltmeter was gradually leaning more toward 14 & then toward 15 Volts.....then the dash gauges started acting "silly"/dash lights flickering even though the engine started with no problems. The voltmeter showed the battery had 11.9 volts after driving the car for several hours even though the dash gauge showed over 14 volts.

It turned out to be a "bad cell" in the battery/New batter solved the 14-15 Volt dash gauge reading/lights flickering.

(Maybe your problem is much less costly)

The car is driven almost every weekend in the summer.

I changed the alternator and the buzzing went away. The old one was overcharging the battery so time will tell if I need a new one soon.

Thanks guys.

I have a video of the buzzing, I will try to get it off my gf's phone before she leaves and post it so you can hear how annoying it was.
