Default Pet Peeve. Just a mild rant

Pet Peeve. People who join the forum because they have a problem .... post their problem .... get some great suggestions and then never report back on what fixed the problem. We can all learn from the resolution of the reported problem.

I usually thank everyone when I get a good suggestion or resolution to a problem and leave it at that. I'm not big on long drawn out threads. I do however take the time to scroll through the threads and see if some one has a problem I can contribute to. I have even gone out and taken pictures of parts, at all hours of the night, to post to a thread in an effort to help others out. Kind of my way to pay it forward. But I understand where ya coming from.

How about the other, universal problem, with people posting on the forum. They post a problem AND NEVER TELL US THE YEAR OF THEIR CAR! Lou.

You're just lucky you're in the C3 section!

I went to the C7 section to ask for pics of their hood vent when I was working on that project. People there took more time to complain about me bumping my thread after 24hrs of no response than to just go and take a picture. Saying I can't expect instant help bla bla bla. I should ask nicer....bla bla bla (I said my P's and Q's)...but because i said "C7 Guys" I hurt their feelings.

If I had a C7 I'd would no longer be on this forum if I had to deal with those Debby Downers all the time.

I love you C3 guys!!! I mean... not C3 guys if that offends you somehow...fellow similar model year corvetters

I agree with the c-7 comment.
I find a huge disparity between new and old vette owners attitude.
Old car guys and gals will take a minute or more to chat it up.
They are usually the ones who have their favorite ride on their cell phone in the pics or screen saver section.
Almost all the newer vette owners don't get it or just can't be bothered talking to you.
I have enough trouble getting them to raise their paw and wave let alone commit to a brief conversation.
I have better conversation with the kid at Wawa w/ a skateboard that wants to be me when he grows up. "Cool Car Man"
Mini van moms stare, how come he's so cool and my man is a drip?
I stick to the c-3 section and honestly other than an occasional glimpse at the c-2 section, I've never ventured outside this forum.
I have not joined a local corvette club just for the above reason!!!!
End of Rant, sorry to OP for my 2 cents.

That's OK. Rant on. I LOVE THIS FORUM.

I joined a Corvette Club when I lived in another state. Mostly newer cars and the owners made it obvious they weren't C-3 fans. Some were actually rude. I am quite sure most of them never wrenched on their cars so I guess that's why the forums are different.

Here you go. The corvette caravan went through town yesterday and as I was passing them on the interstate going to their meeting place for this area I noticed that THERE WASN'T ONE C3 in the group. When they finally got to the spot I asked where the C3 group was and was told, by a C6 owner, that they were to cramped and old to take on a trip. I left the area.

georgiaboy I would like to say thanks for the help I have received here on the forum about a brake problem. Some thought it might be a brake booster, or master cylinder, could be rotor run out problem. I went for the easy first, and rebuilt the master cylinder. Another question I had was how to get the car on four jack stands, without the car coming off the back stands when I jack up the front. It just seemed like it might cause the stands to tilt, or shift, but it was easy with two floor jacks and one bottle jack under the front crossmember for support. I also found out that gravity bleed is the best way to bleed the system. I just finished it about two hours ago, and took it for test drive it has a good firm pedal. I know if it is a run out problem it will be back and then I will haft to deal with it then. Got it washed for this coming weekend car show.
Thanks for the help here on the forum!

The same thing happens on the 2 Mercedes forum I joined. Very vague questions and if you do give them advice or suggestions, they don't report back and post their resolution.
I know I always like to use the search feature first before posting a question, that's how forums work.
