I don't have a jack for my car so I need to get one. Problem is an original is a fortune and a repro isn't much better. All I care about is it will work safely and fit in the rear compartment. Any suggestions on what works best?
I threw one on from my old Honda but I don't have a specific storage area for it other than in the back. You could always check for dimension and see if you can't find one similar from the pick your part.

Any 68-82 C3 jack and handle will work for you. Shop for a used one. Originals were date coded, but if you are not concerned with judging, you don't have to fret with a date.
Thanks Mike, even used and not being picky they seem a little high!

I saw the one from Harbor Freight, I just don't want it to fall apart when I'm trying to change a tire. I also noticed the C4 jacks are inexpensive and was thinking to go that route as well if I can't find a C3 jack that doesn't cost $100+
So just a quick update on this. I am truly an idiot and am man enough to admit it. I was never missing the jack, I though it was in the compartment right behind the passenger seat. I didn't realize it was under that compartment!

Yep, I'm a dope at times.
Don't be to hard on yourself, we all do it.
I walked out into the garage last night, the wife had parked here Grand Cherokee in a little bit different spot than usual. I couldn't see the Vette from where I was standing. I panicked thinking it had been stolen.
How dumb of me, the garage door was still shut, I would have heard the engine start, and the average age in my community is 60+. Duhh!!
I congratulate you on having the character to post your follow up.

Few bucks saved on a Saturday night, treat yourself with a box of beer.
