Maybe I'm being to literal for the definition, but how can it be a "barn find" if you are the person that stored it and neglected it for decades? To me, if you buy a farm and you start clearing out a cluttered barn and find a Corvette buried under hay and farm equipment that the previous land owner never knew about, or never told anyone it existed, then barn find has validity to it. I'll step away from my soap box and return to loving this hobby.
whast am I missing? it says he bought the car as if to say he bought it when he found it, not new and then let it sit.
"When Stephen B. found it, it had been parked there for 30 years. After buying the car, Stephen then had the difficult task of getting it to safety outside the shed. "
I love the barn finds. It always has me glancing towards older barns as I drive the countryside.
I'm with you on that one. I've even extended my glances to car ports and opened garages, innocently speaking of course. It would be pretty cool to find and talk to someone with that sort of situation. At the very least, you'll get to meet someone and talk to them about their car. At best, you might be able to make an offer. You just never know.
