Default 1973 alarm key switch

Anyone know where I can get a alarm key switch for my 73. I have searched all usual sites and I understand this is discontinued.

Also - I have seen some 70 switches - does anyone know if this will fit a 73?

I got an alarm switch for my 76 from Big City Corvettes, you can give them a try.

One size fits all 68-77. GM #374169. You want to check to make sure the new switch comes with keys.

I thought that the earlier years were the briggs and stratton locks.

This is correct. Different looking altogether in looks, however, I believe the functionality is the same. If you're looking for "correctness" you need to match not only the type of lock and key, but the alpha key code too.

Each year has an assigned alpha key code (slot configuration) and should match the spare tire and the glove box lock sets. This alpha code is a single upper case letter stamped in the head of the key. Beyond that, each key has a cut code (I'm probably using the wrong terminology for this) which was stamped in the knock out. This code tells a locksmith how the key is cut to fit the matched locks' tumblers.

Hope this helps.

Got mine from Volunteer vette for my '73 , It was listed as 68-69 but it fits. If you are looking for specific one for '73 that's all I got.
