Steering column question
What is the cable that attaches to a bracket on the steering column (under the hood)? It seem to run back to the tranny. The only reason I ask is that I found it disconnected on the "75 I just bought yesterday.

It functions to make sure the trans is in park (auto) or reverse (manual) before the key can be turned to lock and removed. It locks the trans in park or reverse till the key is turned on. With the cable unhooked, the lever will have to be held in the up position to turn the key all the way to lock.
