[B[/B]So the wiper door opens as it should and I here a clicking sound from the wiper motor but wipers won't work.
I'm trying to follow the test steps provided by Willcox. Here's my problem, the first step is to make sure the Windshield Wiper Over-Ride Switch is in the correct on position. Well being this is my first C3 I'm not sure which way that is. Ive tried it both ways. I've cleaned the grounds and tested for power also. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance. Frank

What kind of "clicking sound"? loud? soft? repeated or just once? It could be a bad ground and the motor is trying to park itself. Or the relay that controls the motor(in the front of the center console almost under the radio) could be bad. Or it could be the safety switch is out of adjustment. Pull the three wire plug from the motor and test for voltage on the center lug with the ignition on.
Not loud, sounds like a relay trying to pull in.Relay sound coming from under hood not dash. Are there more grounds than the 2 I cleaned on the front of the wiper motor? will check that 3 prong for power. Thanks
There's a relay in the motor that may be bad. Go to Willcox's web site and find the "repair" section. They have an excellent write up on testing the motors.
That's actually the switch that allows power to the wiper motor only when the door is open.
In theory, if that was bad, power should never make it to the motor and you wouldn't hear any "clicking"

Huh? that's weird, I unplugged that relay from the harness and jumped the terminals and everything worked fine.

When you remove the switch and connected the two wires it like the switch was pressed and allows the wiper motor to start.
Did you try pressing the button on the switch by hand? It's possible the linkage is out of adjustment and when the door opens it's not quite pressing the switch far enough

That's the "safety switch" I mentioned. It's usually something simple like that.
Well being new to the C3 I didn't know that's what it was called
I'm just glad it was pretty simple. Thanks for your help. I see your from Charlotte, Do you get to the NC Music Factory at all. Also Every first Saturday every month here in Mooresville there is a nice Cruise-in on main st. Lots of Vintage cars.
