VettePack Sidepipe Mufflers or sts inserts
Hello,
I have some hooker sidepipes with glaspack inserts and would like to change the inserts as I read that the glasspacks restrict a lot.
Now I can find a lot on the sts inserts but not that much on the vettepack inserts.
Anybody here that has experience with the two and can tell me what would be my best buy.

I had the first set of Vettepacks made over 2 years ago when I called and asked if they could make a set for the Hooker styled sidepipes since at that time they only did the mid year C2 cars. They are still in the car and it gets driven every weekend. The Vettepacks still sound awesome with no change in the sound or volume level.
Same as you, I did replaced the glass pack mufflers which were restrictive but also a little too quiet and the tone was blah. The Vettepacks are louder but the tone is great and at cruising speed you can have a conversation with the windows up and a/c on.
The video clip on their website is one that I made a few weeks after I installed the Vettepacks. I haven't used or heard the STS inserts other than videos on Youtube. I hear that they flow extremely well but have a tinny sound to them that some like and some don't.

STS or Vettepacks?
I had STS, wanted something that sounded better than the tinklie sound that they produce.
Installed Vettepacks this summer, went with the 3" core inserts, fit really well.
Nice tone at idle, much Better sound! Tho you still will not be able to sneak out of town!
On my car I ran the STS baffles un-capped!
