Sounds simple? Light assembly is ~1/8th inch short of opening enough to allow removal of the bezel that surrounds the lamps. I managed to change the burned out lamp but it was like eating Chinese food with one chop stick. I've googled and read my repair manual but I am still in search of an easy way to raise the front edge only. seems adjustments might be more accessible with the bezel off, which isn't happening. Thanks in advance

1979 btw
With the headlights up that bezel should remove easily so I wonder if the light isn't opening all the way.
There is a stop bracket which sets where the light is in the open position
Here's the one off an earlier car, I think yours doesn't have the adjustable bumper and the adjustment is slots where it bolds to the side of the lights.
See if yours is against the stop and maybe adjust it as needed to bring the front edge up to where it should be (pretty much flush). That should allow it to tilt up enough to slide off without issue.
