Default Side mirror dimensions

Hi Guys

I recently acquired a 72 Vette, and it only has the driver's side mirror. Id like to order the passenger side one but i remember reading somewhere that the 75+ year models had the wider ones as opposed to the 69-74 which had the more squarish ones. Could anyone confirm this? id like to order a set at the earliest

Thanks

The info you have is correct. The new passenger side mirror will come with a template for locating the base plate, IIRC, along with the well nuts to mount the base plate. I did this install many years ago and the well nuts are very secure after all this time.
The only issue with the aftermarket mirrors is the chrome does not hold up well.

Order a pair of "large head" mirrors.

That looks right.

I changed from the small size to the larger size mirror and recommend it to anyone who is not concerned about originality. That little bit extra makes a difference when using them to actually see what's back there.

I've got the pass size mirror also but can't comment on it's usefulness yet
