Tilt front clips....

From time to time I post about this custom touch, okay, it's pretty radical but if done right makes a modded car really trick and easier to work on,
I am still hunting one, or two, lol,
A bit of history first,
As far as I can tell Ecklers started this way back in the early 70's I have to grab mikes old eckler catalogs and take a gander at all the different ones they offered, ( perhaps you have an old catalog ) but I do know ecklers sold these in a lot of configurations not just the rather tame one they still sell today that is basically a 73-79 clip with recessed lights and a cowl hood.
They offered recessed headlights and headlights in the grill, that grill option Which was a part you could buy separate took something of a hike when law enforcement and inspections wouldn't pass cars with headlights too low.
They offered at one time an early 68-72 version and you had your pick of flares or no flares and L-88 or cowl scoop. whew!
Then there was the mako or maco tilt front end, invented by a fellow John Silva it's very radical and not everyones cup o tea.
Next we have the owner built tilt clips some nicer than others and the best I have seen being the one a member on here built that retained the stock pop up lights, now how cool is that?
I have a mako clip but it's radical and while I really like it that near stock 69 look is just breathtaking, ( look at vettebuyers car ) I say near stock in my case I want flares.
So my idea is this I find me a tilt 68-72 style front clip and do the hinge set up in a way to be able to quickly swap out front clips for whole different looks depending on mood.
So while I am hunting to buy a tilt front end seems it always gains enough attention to deem a post here, I would love to see your pictures of your tilt front clips,
Here are a few pix to get it going.....
Many thanks!
Cheers,
P.

This one was all out, L88 hood, ZL1 flairs and the recessed headlights, it went with the station wagon rear clip.

Ah %$#@& geez um doh....his user named rang a bell.... that is the fellow I bought my chassis from...when the hauled the chassis here the clip could have rode along...
:rosslato,
You say easier to work on,
The 65 mako shark showing what the new c3 might look like had a flip front and it took until 84 for gm to decide it really was a good idea....
