Thanks Bats, this hood has a long history. One story worth telling, when I lived in Ohio I had it sitting outside my garage under the eaves against the wall when my car was in pieces. One day i'm out in the back fields on my quad and I find it a quarter mile away in some bushes, not a scratch on it, no damage! I guess a bad storm picked it up and it went for a long *** ride and had a soft landing... Talk about a WTF moment!
you might know if you see my posts I'm a big custom fan,
When the twin turbo hood came out it was big time popular I think more of them are on vettes than the L-88, ecklers at one time sold it, 2 ducts , one duct, no ducts and a low version,
So I can't express how much I dig the way your personalized it with the extra scoop, radical yet cool refined.

Melting Slicks
Here's a Eckler High Rise with an add on of mine. I used a router to create a groove for the scoop to sit into so as to avoid a cracking later. I also bolted the scoop on with lugs I molded to it.

These following pictures are of the mods to the L88 hood including addition of an airchamber and scoop. I am not all that happy with the filter I selected so that is apt to be one of those re-do's that I am famous for.

1st is the scoop that required a lot of trimming and then added glass work to get it to clear the filter.
Next is the layout of the hood both for the filter opening and for the airchamber.
Here you can see the filter sitting on the throttle body and rising through the hood.
I used the initial cutout piece as a contact base for my filter. It bolts to the filter base plate and will be the landing surface for the seal separating the intake air from the engine compartment air.
Next we have the modified scoop ready to be bonded to the hood.
...and last, the finished product. Note: the opening will have some sort of mesh over the opening and will match the center grill.
