I found her on Craigslist in Holsworth Ky . The owner pulled open the barn door as if he was opening a tomb, he could barely look @ her! His mother gave him this vette for his high school graduation present. He drove her for two yrs. and then moved away leaving her behind. He was gone for 16yrs. and upon returning home he found out that she was there quietly waiting for him the whole time, under cover and in the barn where his mother put her 16yrs. earlier. He dropped the tanks, flushed the line and got her going again. He drove for two weeks but the love affair was soon to be over because he made a 2nd dumbest mistake of his life and let his 18yr old nephew take her for a spin. Five minutes later he got the gut wrenching call, she was dead! The kid had put in a ditch doing 70. I could and should just buy a restored vette, being a CEO of two companies my time is serious in demand, but I know she needs saving. I want to thank all you Vette guru's in advance for your help.
Cam,
Nice color, good luck in your journey the feeling when you're done will be awesome. I remember a mechanic we first had look a our car a year ago, said, " why did you buy THIS corvette" now running and driving for about 3 1/2 weeks now I couldn't be happier. Enjoy!
And the guy who sold us this car was blown away how it came out, he even said, you saved another corvette!! It's a great feeling.
I certainly appreciate your enthusiasm, but, that one may even be a huge project for a restomod. The frame is obviously quite bent and will need some very serious work and a ton of parts to get her rolling again. Can it be done? Sure, but, will take a ton of time and/or dollars!

Completely true, 5 yrs. ago I would have passed on her, but I have the resources, time is going to be in question. My mod's are slight but will make her a one of a kind. I already have another frame for her, bought it last year in Texas, getting ready to send off for stripping, thinking of wet blast. I would also like to thanks you all for your warm welcomes to this forum, I knew this was a place I could go where you guys would get the love for this little purple vette.
Congrats on the purchase! It's not going to be cheap, but if you got the gut feel, that this is your car, then you made the right choice. She will pay you back in spades for saving her.
congrats on the purchase and good job on saving her, I'm sure you will appreciate her more than the other guy did. How do you get a nice car like that for graduation then only drive it for two years - no appreciation in my opinion! BTW, what year is she, 77?

Yeah I not sure he really appreciated her as much as I think I will, she's a 76
