Default New owner! Restomod project!

Hello am new to the forum here. Just picked up a 74 stingray coupe on Saturday. All major stuff done like engine trans brakes suspension etc. Intact and drivable. Want to replace original seats with updated ones from a newer better so I can use 5 point harness, any suggestions from the members here. And will be posting pics very soon.

Preferably seats from a newer vette. The ones with the black leather, red stitching and the embossed corvette logo and lettering. Also she has a meaty can and was looking at electronic headlight conversion kits. What are your thoughts on those?

If you mean electric actuators to open the lights and getting rid of the vacuum stuff I love that idea but I make my own the kits cost too much,
And nothing wrong with sticking some hid in there either...

Look at Mr.Mike's Fiero seats http://mrmikes.com/

I'm thinking that they are the ticket.

As far as the electric headlight conversion-
Here's a great thread to look at-
I have a few brackets and can email you a PDF on the installation-they use Ford Probe/Mazda Miata motors and is very affordable. richard454@ comcast.net

Are you going to put in a 4 point or 5/6 point rollbar? The reason I ask is that the seat side bolsters can get in the way of the 5th and 6th points. The seats in the pics above don't look like they would allow for a 5/6 point roll bar.
I, myself, now have to mod my racing seats to squeeze those pipes past.

I'm not going to run a roll bar, just showing you the option of Fiero seats

I was asking the original poster, they said they wanted 5 point harness, which would need a roll bar.

Attachment 47834185I have no idea what seat belt combo will/won't work besides the stock lap belt, but here are C5 seats in a '74 convert with crossed flag logos. Gotta admit, I'm not sure if the crossed flags are EXACTLY correct or not, but I figger close enuf. Have a great week, Bill

I don't know about the seats, new foam and leather-like covers on mine but the headlight conversion using Richard454's brackets and finding some 35$ Probe motors made it way easy and they work beautifully. That was a loooong thread which was absolutely invaluable to me. I can't thank those guys enough for it.
