Hey guys I just put a set of 1-5/8" to 3" long tube headers on my 77 and I was going to have 2 1/2" pipe ran back to where the stock mufflers originally hung. Now I'm kinda thinking of hanging both mufflers around where the catylitic converter use to hang and turning them down right there. Has anybody done this? I'm a little concerned about resonance in the cab thanks in advance
I think you'll find there isn't enough room for two mufflers in that location
There isn't any room for any kind of decent muffler and as said above the fumes will be to much at a stop light. Have a good system built and exit it in the stock location.
Also, you could get in trouble with the law, it's illegal to terminate exhaust under the car here......it must exit either the rear or the side of the car.
I made this up-it was pretty easy. I suppose you could exit it out the side if you wanted.
I had side pipes before and I hated the fumes so I put some high flow cats on.
Had to shape the floorboards a little bit to keep the heat off of them.

What is going on with those fans? Why are they there?
