I have removed the firewall from my 71 and need to do a few fiberglass repairs. Can anyone tell me what type of fiberglass resin was used in the firewall?? I am also cleaning out the "tar" from the windscreen wiper area and want to waterproof the area with something a bit cleaner looking. Any ideas??
Can't help much on the fiberglass, on my 72 I'd say with was regular long-strand glass
As for the finish, (if your not out the reproduce original) I used a spray bed-liner with good results. Slight texture to help hide some sins, semi-gloss black when applied. Definitely water resistant. (I left the huge windshield blobs of sealant alone for now)

Thanks for your help.
Meccanoman put a post it body and paint. Dub will answer your question.
Thanks for the response guys. I really like the look of the bed-liner for the wiper compartment. Will look into it. I'll try a post on the body&paint forum as well.
Will post an update on my restoration soon. Has been a while....

Hi Mooser , the wiper tray looks awesome. May not be original but it looks clean and neat and like you mentioned can even cover some things. Nice
