Any suggestions as to get the old weatherstrip off and not damage the glass. I have seen a few where the adhesive will be difficult to remove resulting in damage to mirrored portion of glass.
I just did mine. I was just very careful and used the right tools. No issues. However, there is a product designed to loosen adhesive and it's safe. Used it on my bronco years ago. You spray it and it sits for an hour or so. I'll see if I can find it and let you know.
Take your time. I spent maybe and hour on each t-top being very careful and meticulous.
I believe I saw a Youtube video of it a while back but I am at work and cannot access it at the moment. I'm sure if you do a search on the tube, you'll find it. It was a complate T-top restore series of videos.
I don't have an actual issue with the weatherstrip. The issue is with what appears to be glass urethane that is very thick in some areas. I fear that if the urethane isn't removed then my new adhesive will not adhere to the remaining urethane. I have used the 3M adhesive remover on doors and other areas where the weatherstrips were attached with what appears to be a 3M weatherstrip adhesive.
Here goes something ... may be looking for some glass ... LOL

Eek! That would be so horrible.
I think the "urethane" you are referencing is actually the weatherstrip adhesive. Mine only had adhesive under the weatherstrip to hold it in place. Maybe yours was different though. Either way, that 3M stuff is really good. Removes Oil, grease, silicon, many types of adhesive. Even if used on top of old "urethane" that you may have, it will prep it to take the new glue well.
