Default 17 inch wheels with 4.5 backspace

getting ready to oder wheels for my 71 and have read several days of rim post.originaly I was going to order torq thrust wheels because they have 4 inch backspace looking for 17x8 wheels. I like wheels like the Foose legend that does not have the step in the rim where the spoke attaches. Seems like all the custom wheels have 4.5 bakspace. anyone running 17x8 with 4.5 backspace?

I bought Rev Classic 100 with 17''x8'' with 4'' backspace. Inexpensive too at $150 a wheel shipped.

wow, that was fast! you ordered them with -12mm offset right? That's how they list these. They have the deepest lip I've seen. I think it was 4'' when I measured it.

I went with 255/45ZR17. If your car is lowered they will look perfect

yes I did, they will look even deeper being all chrome I think. The guy I ordered from at JD wheels said he had a 17x10 next to the 17x8 at a show last week and with the 4 inch offset the 17x8 looked wider. yes my car is lowered. I should get it back from paint next week. thanks again for the tip on the wheels they were exactly what I was looking for, I will post pictures.

I'm looking at getting the same wheels but I was thinking about to the 255/50r17 tires. I have stock trailing arms and I want the widest tire I can get without scrubbing and sticking out too far. Do you think I'll have any issues with these tires on the 4"backspace rims?

Did you buy the lugnuts from JDwheels also? they sell an extended shank acorn lugnut that fits the wheels perfectly

I really like those. My preference on my '71 is a 15" wheel, but with tire choice so limited, I may have to cave and go to 17" one day. These look like a good option.
