Looking for a manual shifter...
anyone ever heard of a shifter for a manual transmission that shifts on just a front to back pattern? (kind of like a motorcyle shifter) A guy at work is looking for one for his car and swears that they make one that does that. He's hoping he can do an auto to manual conversion in his car and by using a shifter like that he can keep it looking stock.
I kinda remember reading something about this but can't find anything about it online.

I had a Hurst Super Shifter in my 69 Camaro. The Super Shifter is excellent, has very short throws, tight "H" pattern, reverse lockout and large linkage rods to minimize flex. Most "short throw" or inline shifters sit high on the trans and require extensive tunnel modification and will not fit OEM style consoles.

I'm using a Long shifter with my Richmond 5 speed and a 5th gen Camaro stick. It sits pretty low. Most manual C3s I've driven have shifters that are way too tall for my tastes.
