Matching Number Quadrajet Question
My 1974 LS4 TH400 rolled off the assembly line in September 1973.
Somewhere along the way somebody put a 1978 rebuilt truck carb on this engine.
So I am toying with the idea of going back to the correct number carb.
The correct number for a 1974 carb is 7044225, but it seems like the correct carb would be an August or September 1973 Quadrajet.
That number would be 7043212 or something like that?
Can someone with a late 1973 production date 454 with automatic transmission tell me what their Quadrajet model number and production sequence is to help clarify this for me.
Thanks.

Any 7044225 dated within the previous six months of your cars build date is acceptable for NCRS judging if interested. Obviously the 7044225 wasn't in production six months in advance for your car, but you get the idea.

You should be able to find one , I think a worthy task. Usually one of the auto carbs in stock at a vintage carb seller on eBay.
Good luck
