Ok so the door lock retaining clip fell off in the door. Bought a new clip. Pulled pannel. Replaced clip. Damn thing fell off again. I assume I was supposed to install it with the arch facing the interior of the car. Question, how do I do this without screamimg and throwing tools. This thing is not easy. Do I do this by hand, tools?

I just replaced one of mine the other day. I had the arch facing the interior of the car. I used a long pair of needle nose pliers. Problem is that you cannot get enough force to compress the arches as you advance the clip. You have to be careful not to wedge against the window and break it. What I did was get the clip started where it is pretty much solidly wedged. I then got a 3 foot breaker bar and used the metal door frame as a wedge between the bar and the back of the clip. Just roll down the window and make sure you do not make contact with the glass, or I'm sure it will need to be replaced also

Here is a picture with out the clip or actual locking tumbler in place, but you get the idea.

Thanks for the suggestion. It worked! So happy it is done. I hate working on doors! Now I can relax today.
