GM tossed out the paperwork in accordance with their corporate retention policy- just like almost all companies do.
Aside from nostalgia, there's very little purpose in getting a build sheet or a shipper's invoice. The engine type is coded into the VIN and the paint and trim colours are on the trim tag along with the build date. A simple examination of the car will reveal which other options it was built with.
