Default 1978 wiring help

behind the carburetor, screwed into the intake, is a small cylindrical capacitor with a wire coming out of each end...one is short with a double female end...the other is longer with a single male end.
1. What color wire plugs into the double end and where does it come from?
2. Where does the longer single male end plug into?

Hi papawana!
I not for sure, but it sounds like the part you are talking about is a tach filter. I believe the male end goes to the dist. where it is marked tach. The wire coming from the tach goes to the female end. I am not sure why it has a double female. Again I hope someone else can help better than I can.

Default help

as best as I can figure out the long wire from the capacitor goes to the distributor plug-in labeled tach...there is a single white wire with a brown male end that plugs into the short female dual brown end that is on the other side of the capacitor...that is the tach wire...the capacitor cuts down on the static to the radio...after sending out tens of thousands of wiring diagrams to vette owners here on the forum since 2008 I would have thought that someone that I had helped out that had a '78 would have looked at their own vette and helped me out...but that did not happen
