Anyone running an adjustable fuel pressure regulator with their carb setup? If so do you have pics to share of how you mounted/ routed it? I need to set one up and would love some ideas!
I have one of these on a motorcycle with an electric pump and it works well. I tried to mount it as close to the carb inlet as I could. Mine was set at 5# (verified with a gauge) from the factory, but they are easily adjustable. Sorry, no pics.
What kind of carb are you running? I have an Edelbrock and just mounted my regulator in line with the fuel line that came with the Edelbrock but that won't work with a Quadrajet without making new lines.

I'm running an Edelbrock carb as well, just trying to figure out what to mount the regulator too.. do you have any pics?
I have seen them mounted on a carb stud or on the inner wheel well with a little bracket, I was curious why you need one?
Here is the situation... box stock edelbrock performer 650cfm performer carb, mild 350 (bored 40 over, world products torquerII heads, would have to go look up cam specs... I just don't remember them) and a 'stock' replacement mechanical fuel pump from one of the big box parts stores.
It never has run /really/ well, and it seems to run really really rich. I tried messing with the mixture screws to now avail, and when you get over idle speed (1500-2000 rpm) its like you turned on a garden hose in the primary jets. I've got raw fuel pooling in clearance pocket for the secondary butterfly's counterweights.. its a mess all over. My best guess is that the needle and seat are not sealing.. so either I've got some garbage stuck in there or too much fuel pressure. Edelbrock doesn't recommend anything more than 6psi, I checked mine and I have 5 at idle and a strong 10psi above that. My plan was to start with the fuel pressure and clean/re-tune the carb and see where I get, but any advice would be appreciated
Well yeah, but his problem from the symptoms he describes is what I have seen several Edelbrock carbs do, mine did it, pulled it apart cleaned it and it was fine, well, ( like all webers they hate trash, ) as fine as the Edelbrocks ever are, hence why I was asking about Qjet's and gonna move to them...
Mike, how about posting a picture of your fuel line pumping....
