Default c3 trim tag

I have a 76 c3 the trim tag has a c21 stamped in it according to the registry site it was built October 21 1975. This car has a lot of the features from 75...no dome light rear cargo light and an early serial number. (Yeah I know its a worthless year compared to others, but its a nice daily driver.)
My confusion is I am looking at a 68 with a August 1 1968 build date. that is one of the last thousand or so built for the 68 model year. Wouldn't that be a 69 model?? I am confused
The other question I have is the console don't have the buckets for the buckles its a 69 -up style. Would this be normal? one other thought is that the 69 had some alterations to stiffen the frame would you think this car may have those upgrades?

Thanks for the help

1969 Corvettes were made through December 1969. John DeLorean, General Manager of Chevrolet Division, extended Corvette and Camaro production due to a strike earlier in the year. Late '69 Corvettes had some '70 model year features - nothing externally obvious.

Regarding the e-brake console, it was very common to replace the easily-broken '68 original part with a much cheaper and more common later style without seat belt slots.

It's a '68 not a '69. Last serial number for a '68 was 28566.

No. 68 production continued into August 1968 for the last of the model year run. #27433 would have been in the last 1000 or so 68s.

Postings on the forum let us know that the extra frame brace by the rear wheel kick-up started around April, 1968. Lou.
