Default Tail lghts

Stopped at a truck dealer where I get leds for my truck(semi) to see if they had some white leds for my white vette. Guess what I found there? Leds that will turn white for back-up but still be red/bright red for normal.

Needless to say there are now four of them to be put in. Yes, got the light plugs and rubber rims also. Will only wire the two inside for the back-ups.

Sold mama on the idea when I showed her some on another semi last week. Will post some pics when I get it done I hope. So far total cost is $115. But then being a truck driver my labor is free.(So most customers think.)

Even though there are white light LEDs for sale, and even though they make white light...THERE ARE NO SUCH THINGS AS WHITE LEDSs!!!!!!

If you look under a microscope at a "white" LED surface, what you will see are very tiny clusters of red, green, and blue light emitting diodes (LEDs). When they are all emitting their red, green, blue light your eye is tricked into thinking it's seeing white light. So for a light bulb to be either white or red, it's been designed to power only the red LED's for red light, and all the LED's for white light.

White light can be achieved with LEDs in two main ways: 1) phosphor conversion, in which a blue or near-ultraviolet (UV) chip is coated with phosphor(s) to emit white light; and 2) RGB systems, in which light from multiple monochromatic LEDs (red, green, and blue) is mixed, resulting in white light.
Most currently available white LED products are based on the blue LED + phosphor approach.

I buy lots of LEDs, $115 for tri color LED's is pretty darn high...
Perhaps that is where they do the wiring and mounting in plug and play type idea...

So I think I understand, when going forward the LED's are red, step on the brake and they are brighter red? Is that correct? So what happens when your in reverse and the LED's are some type of white and you step on the brake. Since three colors are being used to make white, than how does the brake light work?

Try these.

Did put in a different flasher. Add 12 dollars.

Cross refrenced a sigstat 262 at autozone.

Two center lights have another wire hooked to reverse wires.

Kingkohlmn...love Bill the cat...Ack,

LED tail lights worth different ways,
I have seen the common brake/turn/running where they do get brighter for brake or turn,
Others have some that light for running then more sometimes brighter come on with brake / turn,
You have a great point,
you have the white on in reverse hit the brake, my guess is they will go to red,
