Have any members looked at this car yet? or know about it
I have been trying to see it and make arrangement but the seller seems to be uninterested or unmotivated. I can only seem to get some information via emails
If you know of the car or anything let me know.

I do not want to rain on your parade but be prepaired to spend another $15 to $20K on this car. I purchased a 1968 a year ago with only 50K miles that sat for 17 years. This is some of the things that will be required because of the long storage. Reseal engine, rebuild carb, replace radiator, all hoses and vacumn lines, head light and wiper door accuators, complete brake system rotors, calipers parking brake system, rebuild suspension front and rear, U joints half shafts, transmission, rag top, paint, complete interior consols and plastic parts which will be cracked and brittle, all weather strip and other small thing that do not work. It is really hard on a car to have sat that long. Does the car have any paper work? Mine was also a L79 and if I had it to do over again I would not have done the project. Buy a car finished and ready to enjoy. Just my 2 cent so you will be informed.
no paper work motor number does match vin no. no tank sticker the only thing is an old Delaware 1976 registration.
If you can do most of the work yourself I would not give more than $7K for the car. The motor will need to come out to reseal and if you go that far might as well pull the heads and do a valve job with hardened seats, replace timing chain, check the bearings and on and on. Also be perpaired for your screws and bolts to be rusted and extra time to remove, My car came from Minnesota and was in unheated storage for 17 years. Go into this with your eyes open and knowing some 1968 parts are one year only, expensive and hard to find. If you have alot of time and money go for it but plan on keeping the car because you will have more in the car than you could get out of it.
Lot of money for the condition. Be prepared to chase a lot of hard to find parts with date codes. Second just seems to many red flags, be very careful with your money.
I agree about the price being way out there. I don't think this one will work out for me the seller and I for some reason cant seem to communicate very well,LOL
sort of like my ex wife and I
so good luck to any others that may be interested in sending emails back and forth with the seller.
I can tell you it is a numbers correct engine 327/350hp built july 31 1968
JKippin I purchased a 68 convertible about 4 years ago. It was in pretty much the same condition except, and here it comes. The motor did not run, no hard top, no steering wheel, no smog and not the correct master cylinder. But all the little one off pieces were there. Either way you will be restoring the car I assume. So not really a big difference in the big picture. I paid $3,500.00. I now have a total of $10, 000.00 into it including the purchase price. I am in the process of lifting the body and have to restore the chassis and still have to prep and paint the body. I do have pretty much all the chassis parts required and they are accounted for in the above cost. But I still have a ways to go. Not to mention I decided to build a second garage to accommodate the build. I wish you good luck in your endeavor and ke see p it fun, thats what this hoddy is about for me anyways.
Many states do not issue a title for vehicles more than 10 or 20 years old, it varies from state to state. The "Bill of Sale" being the only document to ownership is not a big deal.
thanks to all those that replied.
I originally posted this to see if anyone knew or had looked at this car. Yes it does seem to be high priced but I was hoping to get it for a better deal than what was posted.(aren't we all?)
Any way after numerous emails back and forth and asking for the seller to call me and providing work and cell numbers he never did so. The only correspondence that we had was via emails. The day I was going to see it Saturday or Sunday he informed me he could only be available during the week late in the afternoon.
I informed him maybe he just didn't need the money or he really wasn't ready to sell and he just responded that I am a very smart man HUH first time I was ever accused of that!!
Yes the paper work dosnt really scare me either...supposedly he bought it from the deceased's son who had a body shop in Lewes Delaware that is the last registration for the car 1975.
Any way I am passing on this one best of luck to any others looking to deal with this gentleman.
I am sure I will find a 68 convertible 327/350hp sometime. Maybe even closer to what I really want Attachment 47852212
