...That a C3 sometimes looks out of scale when parked next to other cars?
Ive pondered this before, and again last night when my buddy parked his Grand National next to my car.... its almost as if the corvette looks like it is in 15/16th's scale parked next to it.
I parked my 2nd Gen 74 Camaro beside a 2013 SS Camarp at the gym.
My car was hidden by the new Camaro , the new Camaro is giganto looking .....it's taller and just massive compared to the old Camaro. The 74 was approximately the same length , other than that , it was just tiny . My 74 looked like a 3/4 scale car or a petite little European sport car. I thought my Camaro was heavy at 3575 ....the dang 2013 goes over 4000 pds I think
New car s are massive in scale, wright , width and height. And Ugly ....well the Dodges are handsome , but weight 900 pds more than I would like or would think they need to be .
People are huge today . Taller and heavier on average .....than 40 years ago
Look at an old 70's C10 Chevy short bed pickup. That was a BIG truck when I was growing up ....it looks tiny today compared to all the behemoth trucks people drive today.
Cars are massive today.....and people used to talk about land yatchs of the 60 and 70's .....that BS .......today's cars are all super wide with huge butts and massive front ends .

Mine is parked next to my wife's Volvo XC90. I'm constantly amazed by several things:
1) The wheelbase is somewhat similar (Vette's is not quite a foot shorter)
2) The overall length is surprisingly similar
3) The Vette's roof comes up to the Volvo's doorhandles
4) Width-wise, it looks like the Vette could fit INSIDE the Volvo
5) The seats of the Vette line up almost perfectly with the REAR seats of the Volvo
My car being black, I normally have it covered so I don't have to CONSTANTLY deal with pollen and dust. When I don't have any dust-producing projects, I have an inexpensive cover on my car. I get so tired of not getting to see it, though, so I leave it uncovered when possible. I find myself staring at the awesomeness of its shape when I take the dog out.
