There is a very good possibility that I may move to Florida in the near future, Tampa Bay area.
I need to leverage the people that live in the area and find out if you know of places that you can store a car for cheap. I currently rent a one car garage in MD for 12.50 a month. I know finding that kind of a deal again is going to be near impossible. But it doesn't mean I can't happen.
Any suggestions, people you know who have space that they may be willing to rent out, etc. I am all ears.
Thanks.

I have read on this forum that folks rent out parking spots in condo buildings. As cheap as $20,00 per month. Have to speak to the supper of the building or a real state agent in the aria for contact info. I did it with a Aston Martin that I own for a bunch of years. It was a bit more expensive ( $50,00 a month ) But I am in Canada after all. We all get hosed pretty badly for everything up here. Cheers.

You mean Canada gets some sunny days without snow during the year where a car like this can be driven?
A word of caution. Legally, if you store a car in another person's garage or designated parking area, it becomes subject to foreclosure or lien actions. Check with an attorney. And remember, one thing is clear when it comes to the law-nothing is clear.
I may be missing the obvious, but when you get to Tampa (if you go to Tampa because you may not be going), rent/purchase a house with a garage.
I thought about this, but like in MD, its cheaper to rent the two separately at this time. Especially if you don't know if you will be staying there for the long haul. Unless I can rent a house with a garage for 800, I don't see how I can afford to rent a house and save to buy a house and a needed new car soon.
I am surprised on the lack of responses. I would have thought there would have been tons of suggestions or people who know others who have some space they would like to rent out.

Maybe there's no space left. It is Florida after all.
I'm looking for a new house right now, and there's no way in hell I'm buying one that doesn't have at least a one car garage.
Even renting I have to have a garage, but I'm a car guy so I guess that a garage is just a no brainer for me.
When I have gone looking at houses, I look at houses not for the house, but the garage and potential garage/ car storage spaces, and then, I look at the house!

There is the obvious storage units, possibly find a hotel with a parking garage and talk to them about buying a space for a block of time, and see what deals can be made. Honestly, I bought a '75 C3 a year or two ago and didn't have space at my house, so I talked to my neighbors and I put it in their back yards, driveways and then eventually in a carport of a parsonage. I know that there are empty garages, sheds, barns, driveways, etc. and for me; I would offer to mow their lawns or wash their car or something in return for storing a car somewhere. It worked for me, and it worked well. I found almost everyone I asked was willing to wheel and deal. One was fine with it as long as it wasn't stolen, so they checked it out, and once it was verified it wasn't, they were fine with it. So there are ways to store it for not very much money. You might also talk to local FBO's at airports as there are several boats, jet skis, and cars stored in the local FBO's here at my airport. One of them almost could qualify as a museum for classic cars from the 30'-80's.
