Default Question on a 77 wiper.

My wipers don't work. They use to, then they started the "when I feel like it, Ill work" routine. They do not make the 77 wiper switches on the column. So I was thinking of placing a switch under the dash, so I can turn them on if need be. But now Im wondering did the 77's have a control to adjust the speed, or just a two way switch for regular and fast wiper motion? Any help would be appreciated. Also the three wires that go into the plug, in the engine compartment, I'm assuming one is positive or first speed, another is second speed? and third a ground? Sorry haven't looked at the wiring diagrams yet. They are in the garage buried. Thanks.

The yellow wire at the wiper motor has power with key on, the other terminals get grounded by the wiper switch for low or high speed. There should also be a ground wire attached to the motor case. On the 77 I had, I was able to open up the switch and clean the terminals.

Yes, it's not fun to get to, but mine was full of hard dried grease that I cleaned out.

I guess i'll plan a day, and take the time to do this before rigging up a aux, switch. Thanks.
