so I am thinking of yanking the 350 out of my 76 to freshen her up. I like the power numbers the Vortec heads make. I don't like the center bolt valve covers lol what options do I have to flow like these other than reworking a set of 041 or 292 heads? I want to keep the car looking period correct with the L82 valve covers.
I have seen the E tec heads and the Brodies..I believe these have the dual mount options for the valve covers.
The car has 370 gears with a juice box in it. not sure on the rest of the package at this time rest of drive train will stay unchanged other than the chassis upgrades already done.
Just looking to make around 400 hp and 400ft/lbs of torque which is very doable for a fun driver.
Thanks in advance

Or you could go the easy way and drop a 383 in it. I've seen adapters that allow you to put stock valve covers on a center bolt head if you want to keep the stock appearance.
yeah I know a motor swap could be done.
I have a spare Mk4 BBC bored and stroked to 496 looking for a home and I am in the process of doing a 468. I just want to play with the little 350 for bit
My buddy has a 350 crate motor from year one that is pushing these numbers and I thought I would build something like it for the Vette I just don't car for the look when the hood opens up to see the center bolt valve covers. The hp and tq numbers look appealing pretty flat torque curve.
