Default TransGo Kit and C3

So i believe since i have LG4 305 1980 4/9/1979 build date and my car is California built i would the the 3 speed TH350 not the C correct?

Now i have two options.
TransGo Performance Shift Kits 350-1-2
TransGo Performance Shift Kits 350-3

Motor is around 220HP so which kit would be best for me ?

I remember putting my TransGo in my 77 awhile back. But I do not remember there being diff. kits. My kit had the materials to go either way, if I remember correctly. I went with the hard shift, which I believe is the "off road" type.

I believe you are correct in that you have the THM350 NOT the THM350-C, which I think only was in the 81-82 cars. Mine is an 81 and has the THM350-C. The 'C' is the designation for the lockup variation.

As far as the type of kit, I think you want the '-1&2' type (not -3 which is race version). This is what I used.

I installed this kit last winter and it was a great little upgrade to the old TH350C. Holds onto first a little longer and shifts firmer. With my stock 2.87 rear end, I was/am not able to chirp the tires but that's ok.

The install went fine and I had never done anything like that before. I did break the drill bit that came with it, but just got another one. Be very careful, take your time and follow the directions TO THE T!

Would you install the 3 if you had the chance to again ?

Info to read when installing

I am confused as the tune up and service manual says Cali cars 1980 are 350C but the drive shaft is 6" long, no connector i can see.. Ill upload pics. the two VIN and code numbers are worn away..
