Default Engine Hoisting

When lifting a fully dressed 350 from the engine bay, where is best to attach the hoist?

I can undress her if I must, but I am hopeful that the engine will come out of one car and directly into the next.

There is a ring with no apparent purpose at the front left near the intake manifold, but I would expect it to have a twin at the right rear and there isn't one.

I know this is insufficient information, what else can I provide?

Hi Para,

I'm not sure which year you are referring to, but you have described the lift bracket on the intake manifold that the factory uses. It has a brother that is located on the rear passenger side that should be connected at the bellhousing. Unfortunately, these are not good lift points for overhauls - the factory dropped the motors on the chassis with no body.

My suggestion is to use two inboard intake manifold bolt locations. Use long bolts with thick washers.

I expect you will be using a load leveler?
