Log in and add the items to a cart... it will store it forever.

I thought I would give it a shot, I took it a part and cleaned the points and lightly blew it out (turned air compressor regulator way down) and then a few drops of light machine oil. Put 12v to the tab on the back and hooked the negative up and off she went.

It has been running for several hours now and is keeping good time.

I was so excited that I got it going I called my wife at work and she thought I was crazy, she said; "she was glad the little things in life get me excited".

What can I say?

Some times we just don't understand each other eh. Just like my wife would come home all excited that she got some slippers on sale at some discount store. How does a guy get excited about that? All I can do is laugh at the differences.

Just make sure you have your car on a tender from now on. That clock will drain your batt in no time. Cheers.

I've got the clock repair job on my agenda. How difficult is it to remove it from the center instrument panel? Great photos and information on how to clean and adjust it once it's out but not how to get it out without damaging it. Anyone have some tips?

Start at the bottom of page 3 and it will walk you through the removal.

I took mine out, cleaned it filed the contacts, carefully oiled it, kept it out of the car for two days to make sure it was working ok. Put it back in and it ran for four days and quit again. Next time it comes out, a quartz mechanism is going behind the clock face.

Hope yours lasts a lot longer than mine did.

Hmmmm, gives me some possible hope. Also, A while back I've been told to use "lemon" oil on delicate parts. Can't recall why now.

Trying to find the easiest way to remove my clock from the center gauge panel on my '79 for repair. Wilcox sent me a nice site that seems to indicate that I need to pull the center console and the side console panels off as well. Does all of this stuff really need to come off? To pull the side panels I'd have to remove the seats to get the rear screws on the carpeted side panels.
