Groovy,

That is exactly the look I'm shooting for!! E-X-A-C-T-L-Y! Although in my State I do need back-up lights, so I'll have to choose between oldgto's LEDs or gwank's Eagle Eyes.

Thanks for the photo.

Here are a couple pics of the eagle eye lights used for back-ups.

The light under the car is from a couple of eagle eye lights mounted in a hole in the frame and pointing down to the ground. I had a couple extra and just stuck them where I found a hole.

Where did you get these? Were you able to just splice them into your backup light wiring or were relays required? Thanks in advance for any info.

I have a build thread for the whole car on a french forum if you want (LOT of) pics.
http://www.corvettepassion.com/t459-...breuses-modifs

the rear bumper alone was a lot of work for a fiberglass newbie like I was then.

I started by molding the license plate recess twice

I used both parts to have a wider mold and used it to build a new wider license recess

and finally I cut a brand new fiberglass bumper and glassed the part

after cutting the backup light holes, I built some little brackets on the back (that's how the lights are mounted on early C4)

unfortunately, the lamps don't clear the real bumper and both the metal part and the honeycomb had to be cut (still need to reinforce the metal bumper).

the CORVETTE insert between the tail lamps was even harder.
a friend of mine cnc machined a plug for me

after many tries and vacuum assist, I've been able to get a clean part

for the exhaust, I started with a pair of dual tips from ebay and build it from there

I got the lights off of E-bay. Just search for Eagle Eye LEDs. These are 3 watts but I later saw them at 9 watts.
They just tap into the original wires with scotch locks. Not too much damage to the wires. No relays required.

The lights have a 3/8ths In. threaded body and come with a nut. I did remove the white plastic square threaded "nut" from the filler panel. That leaves a 3/8ths in. square hole and the body of the light goes thru there with no damage to the car.
You will have to drill out the hole in the plate itself.

It wasn't until I looked at the construction photos above that I noticed you did the mod I thought of- C4-style reverse lights on either side of the license plate. I went through your thread on the French website, you have some great details. If you don't mind, I"m also going to borrow your idea for the rear speakers and amp.

Lastly, I love the flat/satin sheen of the silver paint. It reminds me of the finish on F-22s and F-35s. Great stuff.

Guys, this is not going to fit inside the 63-73 rear bezel without some trimming. It is about 3/8" too wide at the top. The later cars without a bezel are no problem.

I actually used one on a truck I had with a camper shell, more light for backing up always helps!
