The 71 would not start leaving the car show last night, dead / weak battery. Was parked on a hill, thank goodness for a stick.
Changed the battery today and UN-BUBBAED the ground cable + cleaned and painted the battery compartment.

Much better starts and looks....

Long Island needs a drag strip (Facebook) - great people and cars....

Pulled the plug and called Van Steel to order the front and rear coil over kits for the '73.They were just closing for the day so I'll be getting the final pricing on Monday. It is a Good Friday.

Good call- great guys- great product!!!

More exhaust work-

2½" straight pipes- tacked together- will be running though a 30" long 4" glasspac muffler when needed by a flick of a switch.

4" under the factory look chromed fiberglass covers-

309 stainless polished- plenty of ground clearance

Stainless perfed....

here's my design idea...

HAHA- but now I'll be able to chose when I wake them!!!

Just messed with the exhaust today between pre-planned events....

Working on the baffling- I got my fiberglass exhaust packing material and the perfed rolled to fit.

I was looking around for ends- to make the baffles slip in/on when I had an "aha moment." I needed it to be stainless- 3½" inner diameter and 4" outer diameter...

OK- 2 out of 3 worked for me- and "Insinkerator garbage disposal flange!!!"

Stainless steel-perfect fit 3½" ID-will just have to take a 1/4 inch or so off the outside diameter.

Just need to get some SS ties to hold the fiberglass packing material.

Default LH door handle

No biggie compared to most of you guys, but for a non talented wrencher, I replaced the driver side door handle. This is the old floppy, filthy, unshiney part I removed. Believe it was original.

Now I have to go put this monster back in.

I actually wrote a list of things to do on the Vette, and started at the top of the list with repainting my calipers, to include painting for the first time on my new caliper. Within the last week i've fixed my power door locks, the glove box light and the horn. Next up will likely be a C4 squirrel cage conversion. I've got the parts, just need to fab a space to make it fit.

The trick if you haven't found it yet is to take the 2 or 3 screws that hold the door latch mechanism in place on the back side of the door loose, which will allow the mechanism to drop down some, thus giving you more room to install the new door handle. I remember when I did mine that it wasn't nearly as hard as others had warned.

How easy/hard is it to fit those seats in?

Or I'd shovel it off. It looks like it is gone everywhere but there. what did you do, plow the yard and pile it there to get the Vette secure inside?

It's hard to tell, but pits about 10" hard thick solid ice. And yes, I back the ATV and plow into that area all winter to plow straight out. If I backed the car out I'd get belly hung as soon as the front wheels hit the ramp. The joys of living with four seasons I guess.

Did manage to get the car out yesterday though. Bit delayed due to pouring a new concrete floor in the shop. 6 pumps of the throttle, 20 seconds of cranking and it fired right up. Parked since onctober 1st.

Yes. Been to long. My dads buried in Milverton and I'll be down that way and plan on road tripping in the Vette. I'll give you some heads up when I'm coming by O'ville.

Trust you you had a good winter.
