Finishing up installation of new Dakota Digital VHX gauges. Should have been an easy job but, you know - "As long as I'm here..."

I removed it from the Escalade and placed the Child's Car Seat on the flaking paint that covers the rear deck of the '68 project!

But I dare ANYONE to look too hard at the fresh paint on the hood.......

I've been really busy on the car. so far I have removed the interior, heat/ac ducting, dash, and wire harness. I replaced the cracked windshield with a nice new one. I ordered a new dash, carpet and rebuilt my old bubbafied wire harness with new wires and replace any broken plugs with new ones. I got a hold of all the interior trim pieces for my car via craigslist so i will dye them. only thing left is to find some black seat belts.

I did have to grind off the head of the seat belt bolt that is on the floor under the seat so I could drill out the rivets of the underbody reinforcement. That bolt was too far seized up.

Installed the missing footman loops for the t-top tie downs. Like any project this was harder than anticipated. None of the screws wanted to go into the existing holes. Had to tap them to clean them up, which proved difficult too.

I repainted my tilt steering column. This was a rebuilt column but was painted in the wrong shade of red. I repainted the column in place with tons of masking. Very satisfied with the results.

I just drove min over to the shop for an alignment. Now that I have new tires, a spreader bar and the Borgeson box installed it was time to make sure everything is true up front.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be dropping in my new (new to me at least) Glass t-tops!!!

Rebuilt the speedometer on the 68 vert. Worn out gear under the cup unit. Luckily, I had a spare and was able to replace it. Speedo, odometer and trip meter work perfectly now. It should be back from the body shop in a couple weeks and will be sporting a new front and rear clip along with new door skins. Can't wait to get it home to begin the assembly.
