Default Let me tell you about my day:

I need to unload this before I go crazy. Started 9 am, decided to take the vette to the docs. As I take my cover off I notice something on the front passenger fender and hood. SOMEONE put something on it and what ever it was, etched the paint.! The size is an exact fit to a red bull can. I figure the citric acid ate through it. My kids.! Later I notice a 4 inch scratch on the lower bottom of my door. Same height as my daughters pedal on her bike.! At 3 I go to get gas and to pick my daughter up from school. As I leave the station, the passenger side glass mirror falls out and shatters! When I get to the school, I get out to see if it scratched the car as it fell. Well my cell phone drops and cracks!, I then get home and decide to place my car back up on the ramps. So no more damage can take place. As I Drive up the ramps, I had it in first gear instead of drive. I gave it a bit of gas, well the rear ramps kicked out! And the *** end ALMOST collapsed. It was tittering on the edge off the crooked ramps. I had to carefully jack up the rear. Replace the rear ramps, drive off, fix the ramps and drive back on. When the vette *** fell, I damaged the drivers side lower valence.! AUGHHHHHH

I hate to here stories like this. We all have had them. Just one of those days you want to turn back the time and start over. I had a day similar last year, carb puked out so had to pedal it home, took the T-tops off and in one motion balanced the drivers side with one hand while I reach up with the other to catch it like I always have done in the past......but missed this time. T-top came down and hit the door edge and took a chunk out of both of them (Door and t-top). At least the ice cold beer tasted great after I decided to just sit down and suck some suds before something else broke. That was right before I saw green antifreeze dripping from the front near the drivers side front wheel. Yep, dropped more than a few F-bombs that day!

I guess my car is telling me "it don't want to be sold". My wife was laughing tonight of the day I had. She witnessed most of the drama. After the mirror incident my buddy told me to just go home and go to bed. I should have taken his advice. When I called him to help me out with the ramps, He yells - I told you to go to bed, see what happens. LOL.

Sorry to hear about your car.
Go get a lotto ticket.
It's not going to hurt your feeling if you don't win, but if you do win something......
That might cheer ya up.

Default bad day

Man that was a bad day. Listen, I have a pair of rocker moldings off my 68. The are not correct for my car but they do look like yours. I light of your woes I would be happy to pay it forward and get them to if if they are correct for your car. When I get home from Chicago I can send some pictures. I know it won't erase the day but it may ease some pain if they work for you. Let me know. Be happy for the day with for daughter if not anything else.

That's a day to forget and get past. The bright side is no one got hurt. Your Corvette will get fixed and you will have a entertaining story tell.

Here is how I solved the problem of having my ramps pull away from my home made "lifts". Simply use hardware store hook and eye device. I no longer have the car or the ramps though.
I hope the rest of your week goes better!

When it rains it pours.

My daughter went to set something on one of my Vettes a few months ago. Luckily I was there to stop her and have a little chat with her. LOL. The crazy thing is she knows better.

Citric acid is a weak acid. I'm not saying the Red Bull can didn't do it, don't know why it would leave a ring though. BTW colas have phosphoric acid in them. That's a strong acid.

Its a amazing what kids do and do not realize it. And the fact the cover conceals it doesnt help.
