Default RetroSound Boombox

Hey there C3 Owners! Check out my latest weekend project!

What I have designed is a way for corvette purists to enjoy music in their corvettes without having to pull the dash, carpet, or harm the originality of their corvettes in any way.

This boombox is completely removable and mobile, meaning it is self powered, and can be installed and removed with ease. No need to attach it to the battery, or run wires to speakers. This is a completely self contained system and even better....it fits perfectly in your rear storage compartment and even allows for the use of the T-Top Straps.

Below are a few pictures of the design. Let me know if you have any questions!

Kinda tough to change stations and volume while you're driving, wouldn't it?

A remote would fix that...

:-) I don't think there are remotes for the Retrosound units.

Fantastic idea. I may borrow (steal) it. One question which may be (is) dumb: Did you use the car antenna?

Sure, I'll upload one today. I left it open so that there is air travel, and for me to quickly charge/remove the battery if I need to.

I built this homemade speaker box that hides a small sub and amp. The 6x9s were Rockford Fosgates that I had in the stock locations. The amp and sub are just cheapos.
A little MDF and yard of vinyl and I'm into this for less than $100.
Maybe won't win any awards for sound quality, but it's much better than it was and I can actually hear music while going down the road... even with the tops and windows down.

It is designed specifically to allow *just* enough room for the tops to sit laterally wedged between the box and the seat backs.
