I asked this in paint and body but didnt get any response so might be that was to broad an area to inquire. This is on my 77, when I bought it the p/o gave me a hood insulation he bought but never installed. I found out why as some clips on the hood were broken. I inquired before and found out the proper adhesive to use to install new ones but never asked how to remove the old broken clips. I dont want to harm the hood but I need to remove a couple of them. Hopefully some of you guys have run into this issue and have some insight. Thanks
I have not done this yet to mine, but when I purchased the neoprene cover before the guy had an issue with cancer, I asked the same question.
He said use a dryer and heat up the old clips. Then twist them off with a pair of pliers.
Like I said, I have not done it myself yet, but this is the way he told me to do it. If I can't get them loose with a dryer, I will be using my heat gun.
I removed all of them from my 73. I just used a thin blade
putty knife and carefully slide under the round plate and they
all came off without any damage. The heat might help, on mine
the adhesive was cold and brittle from old age.
