The right t-top sits an 1/4 higher than the left and I'm trying to get them to sit level to one another but the right has no shims and the left has 5 of them. So what can I do to get the right to come down any more? I removed the shims on the left just to see how the top fits to the body and looks great but having the right side with no shims I can't bring it down any more.
I also just replaced the weatherstrip and still see a tiny bit of light shinning through where the stainless trim meets the corner mouldings for both sides. It doesn't look like I can do any adjustment on the receivers in the T-bar to bring them down either??
It sounds like you have already tried what I would suggest. The tabs that insert into the T bar have shims that would adjust the height. If you already checked these and cannot compensate for the height, then some other method is needed.
My second suggestion would be to check the weatherstrip, if there is a difference between right and left side. This would also keep the t top in a different height position.
My last suggestion is to look at the corner opposite where the problem is. If the front left corner is being kept too high, it may push the back right corner down, and vice versa. I thought of that as a leveling method. Since the top is rigid, then it has to pivot around a plane or center point, and may also create an adjustment problem.
