1981 intermittent wiper

1981 intermittent wiper
MY 81 has slow and fast wiper speed but will not allow me to have the intermittent. if on intermittent it runs at slow speed. Would this be the relay behind the passenger seat. I heard from some one that if the relay was not functioning that the wipers would not work at all. Anyone know about this. Part is a little expensive and do not want to buy it unless I need it.

When my intermittent quit working it was doing as you describe. When in the intermittent position it was like I had it in the slow position. I was lucky enough to find a perfectly good used relay module plugged it in and worked perfectly. So yes the module was bad. I may not have the name of the company right but I think it's Electra-Lite that sells the digital module. I bought one but never used it since I found another factory unit.
