Removing fan clutch 1973 L82
Hello,
I'm trying to take off the fan clutch from the engine. I've removed all 8 locking washers and nuts and it won't budge!
What am I missing?
The fan blade is loose but the clutch is still hung up on something. Is there a special trick?
Please help!!!!

should just be the 4 nuts/studs that hold it to the water pump pulley, then 4 bolts that bolt the fan to the fan clutch
should just all fall apart once the bolts are undone
Maybe just needs a tap with a rubber mallet to unseat things

I pull the 4 nuts (or bolts depending on type of clutch fastener) and pull the fan and clutch all together. Then take the fan off and put it on the new clutch and put it back. You leave the pulley on the water pump (it will be loose, but will stay). All that holds the clutch to the water pump is the 4 bolts (or nuts). There is a "nub" that sticks out and goes into the hollow on the end of the clutch shaft. Maybe it's just stuck from being on so long? It's too hard to take the fan loose while the clutch is on the engine, and it won't fit over the clutch, so you have to remove it anyway.

Pull the ones circled and the same two on the side you can't see, leave the belt on to hold the pulley and the clutch should come right off, unless it's rusted or stuck for some reason. The fan will still be attached to the clutch by the other 4 nuts.

The alignment shims are of 2 different styles.
