You would not believe the number of 1963-1967 Corvettes that I have worked on that had damaged shifter consoles due to a Hurst shifter....and I will not even get into the 1968-1980's.
People can use what they want and do what they want....and as I write often...I do not care....because it is not my Corvette. And I will not be silent if another view can be expressed that just may save a forum member from a problem.
I would bet 99% of that was from a poorly installed poorly adjusted Hurst shifter, of course try to help people...but no need to get mad at someone for not agreeing with you.
I am all about you being helpful and providing a direction for a modification. TRULY I AM!!! But what I have found is that many people need to to be the same so they can follow it to the letter...because there are some forum members who are working on their Corvette...and learning as they go. So getting their brain to be able to 'problem solve' takes time because they do not want to make a mistake. SO with your other modifications that applied....
I kind of got lost there but I was mostly just funning with you for taking the time to scold me for posting about modded cross members...no big deal...
HMMMMM! OK then. If my 'opinion' is wrong.....or my perspective on how I look and analyze 'things' and my passion for what I do EVERY DAY is being taken as being over bearing.... I wonder if I really need to spend my time after a hard day at work to 'try' to be helpful on the forum.
With "opinions" there is no "right" or "wrong", lots of us do this daily and have a passion for it....can we say "camaraderie".
And of course we never have to agree with everything.
"Overbearing" to me would be a person who because they do not like something they feel like they need to attack people who do like it.
Questioing if you are helpful, really?!
I have seen a mindset on other forums, if you don't agree with the persons "opinions" should they bother posting them? I have even seen cats threaten to leave a forum if people didn't agree with their every word.
I would not beg anyone to stay on any forum...BUT,
You bring a huge wealth of knowledge, info and tech...and yes, your "opinions" to this forum,
It would be a great loss to all if you stopped posting.
